Cogwick is ATHRYZA's building and inventing game for children. Players choose parts, build a machine, predict what will happen, test it and see why it worked or failed, then improve their design, across 1,000 puzzles in 10 workshops. It plays in Arabic and English and works offline.

Cogwick is a building and inventing game for children aged about 6 to 10. Cogwick the inventor bird and ten friends in town bring problems, each shown in a picture and a short spoken sentence. Children choose parts, build a solution, predict what will happen, and press Test to watch the machine run. When it doesn't work, the game says why in words a child can act on: a plank that snapped, a ball that ran out of speed, a gear turning the wrong way. Then the child changes the design and tries again.

There are ten workshops: structures, bridges, ramps, levers, wheels and vehicles, pulleys, gears, wind, water, and grand inventions that combine them. Each workshop has five chapters that introduce an idea, apply it, add limits, mix it with earlier workshops, and finish with open problems that have more than one answer.

There are 1,000 puzzles. The first chapter of every workshop, 200 levels, is designed by hand; the other 800 come from reviewed level recipes. A validator checks every level: that it can be solved, that every piece of the answer matters, and that no two levels ask for the same reasoning. Hints come in stages: the idea, where to build, then one piece at a time. A free build workbench uses the same parts and rules, and creations are saved on the device.

The game uses a simplified learning model of forces and materials, not precise physics, and its experiments are meant for the screen.

It is Arabic and English, with right-to-left and left-to-right layouts and spoken guidance. It works offline. There are no accounts, no purchases and no tracking, and progress stays on the device. Settings and every link out of the game sit behind a grown-up check.

All artwork, sounds and levels were made for Cogwick. The voice guide was generated with openly licensed speech models.

Cogwick is finished and in release preparation. It is not yet available in the app stores.

ATHRYZA designed and built the game.
